Course Overview
And now for something a little different...
We are teaming up with Alex Littlechild to put on a course we've been wanting to run for ages. Both Alex and I have a love for Northern white water. We have honed and developed our paddling on the rivers here, and we want to share how we've done it on the local runs, getting ourselves ready for worldwide adventures.
The course will involve 2 days of technical coaching and structured practice on drops and steep white water, looking at making the small tweaks and changes in performance that make the difference to nailing the line with style, predictability and consistency to create a safe margin in your paddling.

With a focus on tactics and body position on drops, we'll concentrate on hitting the take off and using the air time to set your angle for landing. We'll look at aspects such as stomping the bow to absorb the landing, landing bow down to carry speed through the skip or landing flat.
This course will involve lots of laps on drops to get the most improvement and practice opportunities in the weekend.
We'll aim for the likes of the Swale and Skelwith force, with the backup options of the Kent and Tees.
Who's it for?
Paddlers who want to up their steep creeking game with precise skill development, you should already be comfortable on most G4 Runs, and with a consistent roll and boof.
While you don't have to have run them before, rivers with drops like the Swale, Tees, Skelwith should be part of your normal paddling choices, because whilst we'll create a supportive environment to progress and play on the river, the aim will be about improving technique rather then how to paddle drops for the first time (if this isn't for you check out the Into to Steep Creek courses)

Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who has also signed up for the course.
